Ten venues in KL, Selangor and Putrajaya played host to round one of Liga Suparimau Season C last weekend.
A total of 230 teams and more than 3,300 players lined up to kick off the season which runs until December.
The honours of first touch went to Destiny FDC and Young Guns FC who got the action underway in the Klang Valley Under 6 Lions division.
This season’s U6 league features three ability-based divisions, giving many of the 24 registered teams their first taste of regular matches. Teams will play seven regular season matches from September until early November before two rounds of friendly play-offs to end Liga Suparimau’s biggest ever U6 competition.
The Under 6 age group isn’t the only competition to see record numbers in the Klang Valley this season. In total, the Klang Valley region plays host to 82 girls and boys Under 10 teams across 10 competitions, and 93 Under 12 teams competing in 11 separate competitions.
The Under 10s and 12s in the Klang Valley are joined by 62 Under-8 teams, 56 Under-14 teams and 34 Under-16 teams to make up the league’s biggest season yet.
Other Liga Suparimau districts get their Season C campaigns underway starting this coming weekend. Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October will see kick-offs in Penang and Perak, with Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Sabah and Kedah to follow later in October.
With more teams, more matches and a final chance to qualify for the finals on the line, Season C promises excitement from start to finish. Players, parents and fans can follow all the action on the official Liga Suparimau presented by Boost Juice mobile app, available for iOS and Android.
