2024 National Champions Crowned in Kuala Lumpur

National Finals titles go to Johor and Kuala Lumpur after a thrilling weekend of football in the Klang Valley

The 2024 Liga Suparimau presented by Boost Juice season came to a close on Sunday 15th December as the national champions in the Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 divisions lifted the final trophies of the year. 

The third annual National Finals brought together the Liga Suparimau champions from 12 states across Malaysia on 14th and 15th December. With a new format seeing teams divided into 4 groups for the group stages on day 1, competition was fierce for spots in the all-important semi finals.

In the Under 12 age group it was TSS Darulehshan U11 (Selangor), MJT (Kuala Lumpur), Stylo Mylo (Johor) and Puteri Jaya Kids (Kelantan) who progressed. On day 2 of the competition, MJT edged out TSS and Stylo Mylo beat Puteri Jaya Kids to set up a KL-Johor final. 

Eventually the southern side had enough to take the victory, with Stylo Mylo lifting the U12 trophy ahead of MJT and TSS, who took the 3rd/4th playoff on penalties. 

In the Under 14 age group, it was similar states represented in the semi finals. FC Setia Alam (Selangor) faced Ukay Positive FA (KL) in semi final 1 while Lestari Junior FC (Putrajaya) took on FC Mergong (Kelantan) in semi final 2. 

With the score level at full time the final came down to a thrilling penalty shootout between Ukay Positive and FC Mergong. It was the Kuala Lumpur side who edged it though, taking the win 4-2 on penalties. In the 3rd/4th playoff, Lestari Junior edged out FC Setia Alam 3-2 on penalties to round out the medals. 

It was a different cast of states in the Under 16 finals as Terengganu, KL, Pahang and Negeri Sembilan all had representation through Hulu Terengganu U15, KDH Lions, PDSK FC and Sher FC. 

The final would come down to Kuala Lumpur and Pahang, with KDH Lions taking a 3-0 victory over PDSK to claim their first National Finals trophy. In the 3rd/4th playoff Hulu Terengganu held off Sher FC to claim 3rd place.

The finals wrap up another successful year for Liga Suparimau that saw the league expand to 12 states across Malaysia. The 2025 season is not far away with kick off scheduled for the beginning of February.
